Early in Leo Ryan’s career as a counsellor he became aware of the number of female clients being abused by their husbands/partners/boyfriends and was determined to help.

Leo Ryan has been a counsellor for the major part of his working life. Married for over thirty years, Leo has a son and daughter, his wife, Gunilla, has a daughter, and they have seven grandchildren. Leo gained a social work degree from Flinders University, has worked in Adelaide and Canberra, and now lives in Sydney.
