WRITING GROUPS
Sydney School of Arts & Humanities hosts several weekly online writing groups via ZOOM, where authors share and review one another’s writing, and (optionally) take part in a ten-minute writing exercise.

Writers bring work to read that ranges from memoir and non-fiction to novels, short stories and poetry. We understand that authors are at different stages of writing experience and publication, and the gentle helpful feedback we give takes that into account. You can tell us what advice you're looking for and we'll focus on how we can offer some guidance for you to achieve your writing goals.

We have over 6,000 members of Meetup groups, the Sydney Writers’ Circle Meetup being our most popular. All members are eligible to attend, whether regularly or on a casual basis. Our other creative writing and/or memoir Meetups are: Writing Sydney, Inner West Readers and Writers Bloc (yes the spelling with a missing 'k' is intentional!).

Tuesdays 10.30 am – 12.30 pm
The OMG! Memoir Group focuses on people’s personal stories and experiences. It’s a very supportive group that provides a ‘safe space’ for people to share their personal histories.
Tues 6 – 8 pm &/or Sat 2 pm
This group caters for both genres of writing. The evening session allows those in full-time employment the chance to meet weekly to get a head start on their writing projects.
Fridays 2 – 4.00 pm
This writing group attracts a range of novelists, memoir writers, poets and non-fiction writers. With topics ranging from philosophy and history to romance and crime thrillers, it’s a varied group with a range of interests and author experience.
CREATIVE WRITING WITH SPIRIT
Saturdays 2 – 4.00 pm
This writing group attracts anyone from memoirists to poets or those undertaking a first novel. With topics ranging from philosophy and history to sensual or spiritual enquiry, it’s a varied group of writers who want to explore beyond the banal. Saturday meetups focus on writing with spirit!
