There was a time
I wanted to be someone more like you,
my deepest vortex
a force so secret
no man could ever harness me.
I was ashamed of
my transparency,
my naked vulnerability.
Now I see the soul of who I am
must really shine on the outside
so if I have only my skin
to protect it within
I must project my power of a different kind.
Because, darling,
my heart may sometimes break
but never ever will it forsake.
