
His presence so luminous
in the depths of the dark
he lures me into his light.
Dazzling, brilliant,
'Look at me,’ he declares.
The pain of staring directly,
a sharp shining shock,
turns my open gaze to the earth for relief.
As a body of water,
I wait for his touch
to hover around my head -
a halo streaming down through the winter chill.
