Lawrence Goodstone

Lawrence Goodstone has been writing all of his life, albeit for others. With a background in teaching, adult corrections, immigrant services and assisting with the delivery of the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia, he is now writing for himself.

Born in Liverpool, UK, he has travelled extensively and in his early days worked as a goldminer, a fisherman, a labourer and a factory hand. He is now in a position to create stories from a life well lived.

For over forty years, his home has been at Bondi Beach, Sydney’s iconic beachside suburb. He has two children and five grand-children.

His first book What’s in a Name? is a collection of short stories, set in Australia, featuring snapshots of the human condition while reflecting universal themes. They range over a number of genres from crime to science fiction, from human weakness to human strength, and capture pockets of life with uncanny accuracy and sensitivity.
